Eye of the Tiger Birthday on a Budget

I found that there wasn't a lot of cute girlie "Tiger" themed birthday options out there. So I went with making my own design for my daughter's birthday shirt. You can find the design in my etsy shop here Or if you feel creative you can use Canva to design your own shirt if mine doesn't fit the bill. My daughter loves all things colorful and bright, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I've included a free template for an invitation and banner at the bottom of this blog to match the t-shirt design. If you're looking for a cute tiger pinata, this one was smaller than I expectd but super cute and durable. The kids were able to get many rounds of hitting before it broke. This one was an amazon find, you can purchase the pinata here. Our kiddos are obsessed with Ice Cream cake, and this year I did not have the energy to make a homemade ice cream cake. To make it more affordable we went with the Wal-mart brand ice cream cake and Used some of Liana's tiger figerines as cake toppers (after santizing them first of course) If you do not already have a million tiger's on hand like we did, may I suggest the dollar store or Wal mart and target for some for under $3. If you're wanting to find a cute set of cats and their baby's heres the link to a cute amazon set my daughter loves because they have the mommy with their baby. I do not like the idea of waste, so this way they double as a cake topper and toy to play with. We also use anything we already have on hand for our decorations. This birthday sign is one we've used for the past 7 years, and the Tiger stuffed animal we got gifted to us a couple years ago. I typically find my paper products at the dollar store.

The key to any succesful themed birthday party is the birthday girl's outfit, cake, pinata and a cute birthday banner. I used to do helium balloons but ended up frustrated with them deflating or popping or the wind taking them away after spending more money then I wanted, also.... the crazy helium shortage made me dig deeper. My solution to this was purchasing balloon sticks and a pack of my daughters favorite balloons from the dollar store. The sticks are reusable and my daughter was able to have her balloons, since we always did photos with the amount of balloons to match their age. After her birthday I came across these birthday column sticks and will be using them for her 8th birthday.

For this birthday party we went ahead and did pulled pork sliders with coleslaw and homemade mac n cheese (the birthday girl's favorite). I found that making the pulled porked the day before and doing my crock pot mac n cheese recipe makes for an easier day of celebrating and being "in the moment". In my opinion, these few recommendations are all you need to get a few cute photos, and in our experience, make the birthday feel special without being too stressful or expensive.
